Libya rebels move onto Syrian battlefield
CNN - 15 hours ago
Fighters fresh from victory in Libya are moving into Syria to join opposition forces fighting President's Bashar al-Assad's military.

Meanwhile, the poll also shows that the majority of Russians seem not to care what is going on in Syria. Less than half of those polled (44 percent) said they were following the events in the Middle Eastern country, and those were mainly elderly Russians. Eight percent of them said they follow the events closely and another 37 percent said they know about the situation in general.
But 52 percent, most of them young people, says they are not interested in the conflict.
More than 17,000 people have been killed in Syria since the beginning of the unrest in March 2011, according to UN estimates based on Syrian activist accounts, and tens thousands have fled their homes.
While the Russian government is widely seen in the West as a staunch supporter of Assad, the majority of ordinary Russians (57 percent) say they support neither the Syrian government, nor the insurgents fighting to end more than 40 years of Assad family rule.
Among those who have taken a clear stance on the conflict, 14 percent support the Syrian government and 11 percent favor the rebel cause. Another 19 percent could not define their position.
The poll was conducted on July 7-8 and involved 1,600 people in 138 residential locations spread across 46 Russian regions. The statistical margin of error does not exceed 3.4 percent.
Russia – along with China – has vetoed three Western-backed UN Security Council resolutions against Assad, citing a pro-rebel bias. Moscow insists it has no special interest in seeing Assad remain in power, but said that the “Syrian people” must decide his fate.
President Vladimir Putin vowed, in a pre-election campaign article earlier this year, not to allow in Syria a repeat of last year’s “Libya scenario," which saw the ouster and murder of long-time Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, after a NATO military campaign.
Russia and Western nations have exchanged accusations of fuelling the crisis in Syria by providing support to the conflicting sides. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said earlier this month that Russia and China would ‘pay a price’ for backing Assad. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov slammed the remarks as “undiplomatic” and “simply uncivilized,” describing the Western stance on Syria as a “direct invitation to a civil war.”

U.S. backed rebels in Syria slaughter 25 innocent civilians in Aleppo
is another bloody day in Syria!
According to Syria’s official news agency, SANA, a massacre took place of civilians in Daret Azzeh area in Aleppo countryside on Friday. The victims had been kidnapped by armed gangs roving the city earlier in the day.
At least were 25 people were slaughtered.
The victims are all government supporters, called “traitors” by the Syrian opposition. Countless other people are being held hostage. Included with them are an undetermined amount of women and children being used also as human shield by the rebels.
Meanwhile, armed gangs and rebel fighters are hampering rescue efforts in the crisis-hit city of Homs by opening fire at the International Red Crescent and the Syrian Red Cross delegation trying to evacuate the wounded, the elderly, children and women from the city.
Syrian authorities say terrorist groups are currently holding nearly 5,000 civilians hostage inside Homs, these people are in need of immediate help and assistance.
Not helping matters is the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which is conducting a “dirty war” in Syria.
Reports suggest the United States military is engaged in arms and weapons smuggling (see article: CIA spies in Turkey secretly help armed gangs in Syria: Report http://presstv.com/detail/2012/06/21/247265/cia-spies-aid-syria-armed-gangs-report/ ).
The aforementioned article suggest that CIA officers are actually on the ground in Syria recruiting people…
The White House Press office refused to comment on this matter, while trying to also mislead us on the telephone that the Administration is supportive of peace efforts in Syria. Rubbish! God I am so sick of being lied to them.
How freaking stupid do they think we are anyway?
The arms and weapons include crates of M-16 automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition of all types and deadly antitank weapons with anti armor missiles, which are being transported “mostly across the Turkish border,” via trucks, privately owned vehicles and donkeys in some cases.
How large is the arms smuggling operation by the CIA – only God knows for sure!
Unconfirmed reports suggest the CIA is supporting as many as 15,000 foreign mercenaries in Syria (source: http://aangirfan.blogspot.com/2012/03/15000-cia-mercenaries-in-syria-cia.html ).
The CIA did not respond to emails requesting confirmation of how many al-Qaeda linked terrorists it is actively supporting in Syria, using taxpayer funds.
